Lake Geneva Middle School has been awarded Wisconsin School Music Association accreditation.
“Congratulations to all schools that achieved WSMA accreditation for the 2018-19 school year. We applaud their efforts to provide valuable music education opportunities for students,” said WSMA Executive Director Laurie Fellenz.
In order to become WSMA accredited, schools must meet the following requirements:
- Enroll in WSMA membership for the current school year.
- Register one or more students for WSMA District Solo & Ensemble Festival.
- Register one concert group of each available ensemble type for WSMA Concert Group Festivals or Concert Group Clinic Experiences.
Accreditation distinguishes member schools that exemplify WSMA’s shared mission, “To ensure that all students have opportunities which encourage lifelong involvement in music,” through participation in WSMA programs.
“Lake Geneva Middle School is extremely proud that our music program has met the Wisconsin School Music Association's criteria for accreditation,'' stated Anne Heck, Principal of Lake Geneva Middle School. Heck continued by saying, “This honor recognizes our school's outstanding participation in WSMA programming and distinguishes our music program for the valuable music education opportunities we create for our students. Thank you to Mrs. Krause, Mrs. Klement, Ms. May and all of our student musicians for their hard work and dedication.”
